How to Make Crock Pot White Cheese Dip

Mexican Spicy white cheese dip
Authentic Mexican Spicy white cheese dip is one of the best dip to be served in your Mexican themed party. This dip tastes good when served with nachos, tortilla chips or corn chips. Furthermore, there are only a few ingredients needed but the mixture of these few ingredients can create an expulsion in your mouth can surely satisfy you palette.
In choosing your cheese, Asadero is really the cheese of choice. It is a Mexican cheese that is off white in color. You can find this cheese in a latin grocery store if it is not available in your nearest supermarket. This cheese is the best choice because it easily melts without changing its flavor and not becoming stringy. Also it doesn’t become oily once turned into a creamy consistency.
Materials:
· Cheese grater
· Knife
· Chopping board
· Crock pot
· Spatula
· Serving bowl
Ingredients:
240 ml Asadero cheese
4 ounces jalapeno or poblano chiles
60 ml half and half
1 piece of small white onion
8 ounces chopped green chilies
Salt and pepper to taste
Steps on how to prepare the white cheese dip:
1. Gather all the needed materials and ingredients. Measure each ingredients carefully as instructed above.
2. Get a hold with your white cheese and your cheese grater. Grate the the white cheese. It is highly recommended that you use the Asadero cheese however if you can’t find or don’t have one, you may opt for other types of white American cheese. Set it aside.
3. Next, prepare your jalapeno chiles or you may use also poblano chiles. With the jalapeno chiles, wash it and chop it finely using a sharp knife and clean chopping board. On the other hand for the poblano chiles, wash it first then remove all the unnecessary seeds and veins. Once its clean and seedless, you may now proceed with the chopping. Set it aside.
4. Obtain your fresh white onion. Peel and wash carefully the white onion then chop it as finely as possible. Set it aside.
5. Get your crock pot. Inspect if your crock pot is clean and dry. If not, clean every inch and dry it up before using. Place then your white cheese unto the crock pot.
6. Pour then you grated white cheese unto the crock pot together with your half and half. After a few minutes when the white has started to melt, add the jalapeno chiles and your white onion. Also pour your green chilies to the mixture.
7. Cover your crock pot and set it at low heat. Let it cook for around 1 hour and 45 minutes to 2 hours. Stir the preparation from time to time with the use of your spatula for the cheese to have a smooth consistency.
8. Once the cheese has fully melted and cooked, taste the mixture. Add the necessary amount of salt and pepper according to your desired flavor.
9. Let it simmer for a few minutes to obtain the desired dip consistency.
10. Once the consistency is okay, transfer the dip into a serving bowl. Serve it while it is still hot with your nachos, corn chips or tortilla chips on the side.
Special Consideration:
· For those of you who don’t know what is Half and half, it is a dairy product that is made up of half milk and half single cream.
· If an Asadero cheese or American white cheese is not available, a cheddar cheese would work well too.
· If you want it really hot and spicy, you may add a hot sauce or add more chilies to really get that mouth burning spiciness.
· With your green chilies, you may use the canned one or the fresh one. Just make sure that if you opted for the fresh one, it is chopped really finely so that it will disappear in the dip once mixed.
· You may also add spinach and fresh lemon juice unto the mixture to make the taste unique and different. These additional ingredients can alter the taste in a good way. So if you want make another flavor out of your white cheese dip, these add ons are recommended.
· If you don’t have a crock pot, you may use the typical sauce pan.
White cheese dips tend to be very appealing and it surely smells good so this will definitely loved by your guest. Instead of serving just the typical cheese dip or salsa, this recipe can be added to have variations of dips.
