Picnic Activities On Independence Day For Children

 Independence Day of a country is a very special day for the people of that country. Every year it is celebrated in a grand way and everyone pays homage to their freedom fighters on that day.  As it’s a national holiday everywhere people get time to spend the day with their family. There are many ways through which they celebrate this patriotic day such as picnic, party, get together, trip to a distant place, barbequing at the lake side or in forest and visiting zoo or any amusement park etc. Among the huge list picnic is the most embraced way to celebrate Independence Day. Not to mention that people like to enjoy lots of picnic activities selected for children as well as adults on that day.

If you are going on picnic on Independence Day with your own children as well as your friends and their children then you can arrange many picnic activities to make them enjoy the day with full of enthusiasm. First of all you can arrange for some games that are mostly enjoyed by the children of every age. While choosing games as picnic activities keep in mind that you have to organize games for all age group. For age group below 6 years you can arrange some musical games, hide and seek, hop scotch, identifying various shapes or animals or fruits etc. You can also arrange for ‘sit and draw’ where children will love to be engaged in painting their favorite flowers, fruits, birds or any other animals. To encourage them to play games give prizes in terms of cookies, chocolates or small toys or any other stuffs that attract them.

For age group above 6 years and up to teenagers you can arrange some entertaining games mostly played at back yard such as badminton, lawn darts, volley ball, balloon pass, horse shoe and sack race etc. You can also go for some memory games as well as creative art games as picnic activities. For creative games children can be asked to draw some patriotic pictures or flags of their country, can make hand crafts items etc. You can also set ‘making your own dish’ kind of games where kids will be asked to make some good dishes out of provided food items on picnic spot and later can enjoy themselves. Obviously every food item will be processed one, only they need to prepare or garnish it properly for example sandwich, burger, pasta salad, potato salad or fruits delight etc. Or you can give them cake and tell them to decorate with frosting cream using all the colors especially used in your country’s flag.

If you want to organize some brain drain games where you could judge your children’s ready witness or intelligence then go for ‘rapid fire question-answer round’ games, quiz contest etc. Questions should be on their interested topic like favorite sports, movies, cartoons or story books etc.

If your picnic spot is nearby sea shore i.e. on beach then you can arrange for many picnic activities especially games which are basically played in water for example tossing ball, flying dish etc. You can make them involved in some creativity like making different figures with sand.

Last but not the least, if possible arrange for fireworks as one of the greatest picnic activities that your children love to enjoy.
